Wide Area Network

The big brother to a LAN, the daddy of them all is the Internet, the widest of Wide Area Networks.

Usually spanning a wide geographical area and connecting 2 or more LANs together. The connection between the 2 LANs is usually made with the public telephone network or private lines such as megastreams, kilostream.
